Removing Microsoft Windows Messenger

If you would like to uninstall windows messenger from you XP machine, then there are two simple steps to take to remove it.

 

STAGE ONE: Copy the following command to your clipboard (CTRL + C)

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

 

STAGE TWO: open the RUN command

Once you have highlighted, right clicked and copied the command above, open the RUN command.

This is done by holding down your windows key:

windows key and R open the run command

usually by your ALT and CTRL keys, and hitting the R key together. You will be presented with the following box

run command dialog box


Click inside the area to type into and then press CTRL + V to paste in the command you copied earlier

Your RUN command dialog will then look like this

run command with messenger removal command in it


Click OK . . .wait a few seconds for the command to take effect, Microsoft Messenger will have been uninstalled.
